John Uriah Coogler Family

John Uriah Coogler, d. 4 Dec 1860 (Age 84 yrs., 9 mos.), lived on the Broad River Road near the present town of Irmo. His first wife, Elizabeth, d. 19 Sept 1841 (Age 71 yrs. 2 mos.), may have been a Stack, possibly a sister of Abraham Stack who was a son of Jacob Stack, Sr. near Irmo in the late Colonial period.

In 1858, Edward Hamilton Stack, son of Lewis Stack, brought an equity suit against Uriah Coogler over a tract that Coogler had bought from the estate of Hamilton Stack's father (Lewis Stack). This land had been left to Lewis Stack by his father, Abraham Stack. In these records Uriah Coogler was said to be an Uncle of Hamilton Stack.

John Uriah Coogler's second wife was named Mary Magdalene, and is said to have been a Lybrand. She was born about 1816 and, after Uriah Coogler's death, remarried in 1871 to William McConnell.
