John Abraham Glymph Family

Johann Abraham Glimpff arrived 13 December 1754 on the Ship Neptune at Philadelphia (Daniel Rupp, "A Collection of upwards of Thirty Thousand NamesImmigrants in Pennsylvania from 1727 to 1776," page 348).

Johann Abraham Glymph moved to SC and in 1769 received a grant of 100 acres in Berkeley County.  In 1770, he sold this tract with dower signed by wife, Catherine. After death of Johann Abraham Glymph, Catherine married 2) John Heller; married 3) Christian Ruff; and married 4) John Lowe (Sandra Lee, Newberry Equities, p. 243).

5. George T. Suber, born  10 September 1825, died  27 September 1874, married  Sarah Ann Elizabeth Truluck, born 24 May 1828, died  23 October 1916. Buried Bridge Creek Baptist Church, Colquitt County, GA.

6. Fielding Glenn Suber, born  15 August 1829, died  22 November 1915, married  Emily H. Cay,

born  14 September 1832, died  29 June 1914. Buried Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Coolidge, GA.

7. Emanuel Harrison Suber, born  31 January 1832, died  2 April 1919, married  1) Mary Cay,

born  24 August 1832, died  9 January 1890; married  2)  Nancy Clark, born  8 January 1863, died  21 July 1912; and married  3) Molly Hutchinson. All are buried at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Coolidge, GA.

10. Elizabeth Egner, born  27 December 1827, died  12 September 1849, married  Dr. Henry Melvin Eichelberger, born  17 January 1821, died  20 June 1856, son of Col. John Eichelberger, Jr. and Maria Elizabeth Ruff.  Buried at Old Louisville Cemetery , Winston County, MS.

II. John Glymph, born before 1774, died 3 January 1807, married Elizabeth Rikard, died 1829, daughter of  John Reichert and wife, Catherine. John Glymph had a large estate near the Broad River. In 1805, he was among trustees for Salem Methodist Church on Second Creek (Newberry Deeds H-167).

A. Lemuel Glymph, born  7 January 1795, died  5 December 1860, married  Sarah Kinard, born  1808, died 4 October 1862, daughter of Martin Kinard Jr. and Eve Katherine Koon. Lemuel  is buried in the Eargle/Sligh cemetery, Newberry County, SC.

1. Catherine Elizabeth Glymph, born  4 May 1826, died  30 August 1904, married  1) 17 July 1845, Carr Vance, born  11 May 1821, Laurens County, SC, died  6 April 1850, son of  William Mc Vance. Catherine Elizabeth married 2)  Joseph Pinkney Summer, born  18 February 1804, died 3 January 1877.

2. Martha Glymph, born about 1829, married  27 December 1860, Rev. William E. Currie.
