Hans Michael Kibler Family

The family of Hans Michael Kübler arrived 5 October 1766 in Charleston on the Britannia.  The family consisted of wife, Anna Margaretha, age 45, and children: Elizabeth 9; Johannes Jacob 5; and Catherine 3 (Council Journal Vol. 32, pp. 842-850).  Shortly after arrival in SC, a daughter, Dorothy, was born.

Hans Michael Kübler was provided with a 300 acre bounty grant located on the west side of St. Paul's Church. This land contains Kibler Cemetery #2, presumably where the immigrant Kibler is also buried. Most of the Kibler grant was sold in 1798 by the grantee to his son Michael Kibler, Jr. (Nby Deeds G-221). In this deed the immigrant Kibler signs his name as Michael Kübler.  This deed was witnessed by Michael Dickert, Sr., Simon Wicker, and George Adam Youn.

An Audited Account of Michael Kibler (AA 4266) is reimbursement for flour that he supplied 5 November 1781 and in March 1782 to Revolutionary forces.
